EXPAND "ALL PLURKS" MENU

[personal profile] forcesensitive 2016-02-04 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Basically this perma-expands the menu so it forces it to always display the My Plurks/Responded/Private/Liked & Replurked options. I had to refresh after applying to make them vertical.

ul#filter_tab li {
float : left;
opacity: 1;
}
#filter_tab a {
display : initial;
overflow: initial;
margin-right: 5px;
}

This works for me except that the menu now looks like this:

Is there a way to perma-expand it, but keep it looking like this?

There ought to be, but I'm not sure how. Where's an Obi-Wan when we need one?

adding this to the bottom of the ul#filter_tab li { code worked for me:

ul#filter_tab li {
float : left;
display : block;
opacity: 1;
background:#fff;
text-align:center;
margin-bottom:3px;
}

That's worked for me, though I changed margin-bottom to margin-top instead because -bottom was causing the bottom row to be out-of-alignment with the "mark all as read / view all plurks" line.

The only problem is now I have this happening:

GOOD CALL ON THE TOP MARGIN, damn. idk how i didn't notice that since i am also really fussy about margins.

this is a code that will change the link color of the selected tab (responded) instead of the background color though i'm probably missing an !important sinec i'm doing this with stylish:

#filter_tab a.filter_selected{ background: #FFF; color:#AAA;}

still working on the big orange numbers though. =_=

Is that the same color-property as described in "Get rid of Hot Pink on new responses" in the body of the main post? If so, that bit might fix it depending on what results you want to see.

Oh that one's .unread #alert_beacon, .unread_generic { background: #f2a778!important; }

I have it in there as orange because I still wanted it to be clearly visible just not bright red, LOL!

Also dang, that does work to get rid of the selected header's background colour, but I'd kind of been hoping to keep the selected plurk as an off-colour and have it expanded to the edges of the box rather than do away with it. But it doesn't look like that's possible 8|a At least with the method we have here anyway.

I just changed the font color of the selected tab. It shows which section you're on without being too obtrusive.

Those edits did the trick! I also manually added in the rounded edges with border-radius because I was getting square buttons. The final code I ended up with is:

ul#filter_tab li {
float : left;
opacity: 1;
display : block;
opacity: 1;
background:#HEXCOLOR;
text-align:center;
margin-top:3px;
border-radius:5px 5px;
}
#filter_tab a {
display : initial;
overflow: initial;
margin-right: 5px;
}
#filter_tab a.filter_selected{
background: #HEXCOLOR; color:#HEXCOLOR;
}

OKAY this is what I'm using:

ul#filter_tab li {
float : left;
opacity: 1;
margin-top:5px;
}
#filter_tab a {
display : table-cell;
overflow: visible;
margin-right: 5px;
}

i have a curious thing happening! when i first used the code it lined all the options up horizontally along the bottom of my timeline, which was what i wanted, but then i refreshed and they were all back to normal minus any editing despite the code being in place.

is there any way to get them all horizontal again? i apologise if this is a weird question! idk what happened it is a mystery

Well, the vertical display is how it's supposed to look. I got the horizontal as well until I refreshed. Not sure how to make it vertical on purpose, but I'll keep playing with it.
